What God didn't promise...

My sister Kristi has this sign above her fireplace. I absolutely love it!

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain, but he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

It seems in one day we have sun and rain, tears and laughter, sorrow and strength, joy and pain. I have been feeling so bad for the Van Diest family. It is all too real what they are feeling right now. It is crazy to really understand the empathy feeling. It is something you just don't understand until you have been there. I wish I could give them comfort or at least help them really understand the quote above. Being through the dying process and now on the grieving side of things makes it alittle easier everyday to really find comfort in those words. Those poor girls...

  2. I want you to know that you and your family have been on my heart. It's so hard to understand what the purpose of all of this is, but my hope is that there is a plan and God's love will bring us all through. I love your "mom moments." Don't stop sharing them, they are yours, they are special. It's been 9 years since my mom died, I still have those moments. Thinking of you and praying. Natasha

  3. It really does help to look at your blog in this most difficult time. Empathy is the weirdest of things. I've been thinking the last couple days of your mom and aunt and all the other moms having a celebration with each other in heaven and that helps so much
