I wonder how mom celebrated her first birthday in Heaven? I wonder if she heard her grandkids singing Happy Birthday? I wonder if she got all those balloons the kids sent to her? Here are a few pictures from our afternoon celebrating mom...
The kids all had balloons that they wrote on for their grandma and nana. I didn't get a good picture with them holding them because I was trying to video tape that part. The kids held them and sang Happy Birthday and then let the balloons go and watched them until they couldn't see any of them. They believe that is when she got them in Heaven. This is the best picture I got of that part, I think I see a couple.
Not sure why her birthday and Mothers Day have to fall only a couple days a part but what a great time to remember her. She was such a beautiful person. I wrote her a letter in those final weeks; I was given the chance to tell her how much she meant to me as a mom, a best friend, and a hero. I feel so fortunate to have been able to tell her all of that.
She not only raised me to be the person I am today but she saved my life...
Happy Birthday Mom... I love you!
I've been thinking of you this week, and I'm so glad that although yesterday was a hard day, it was also a good day. I love how you helped the kids celebrate your mom's birthday... can't you just see the smile on her face when she got those messages of love from her grandbabies? You're a good mom, Kelli-- you had a good example to follow. Have a blessed Mother's Day. Love you!
